Let’s Talk About Saving Time

Time flies - this is a saying that you hear often when you meet up with family or friends after a long time.

And if you think about it, it is indeed true.

Sometimes, time goes by in the blink of an eye and you find yourself stuck with a long list of pending tasks that you had sworn to complete last week. Many young people have to deal with issues such as this due to a lack of time management. You might think you are spending your time wisely and efficiently, only to find out at the end of the day that little to nothing has actually been accomplished.

So, it is about ‘time’ that you stopped procrastinating and started managing your hours more efficiently with these simple and effective time-saving life hacks!

1. No More Multitasking

When we wake up in the morning, in most cases we are in a rush to get through our early morning chores which might mean we are dressing up and having breakfast simultaneously or maybe even eating while driving to work. To most of us, this might seem like you are saving time by multi-tasking but in reality, this is actually harmful because we are technically switching between the two tasks continuously.

What makes matters worse is that practices such as these lower the quality of your work and it thus takes extra time for you to finish both of the tasks since you constantly have to shift your focus from one activity to another. For example, if you are eating while reading the newspaper, your attention is divided between the text and your meal, which makes you prone to accidents like spilling some of your food on your clothes.

2. Learn to Say No

There are many times, whether you’re  in a domestic setting or at your workplace, when you don’t want to do a particular task but feel obliged to do it nonetheless. This is an issue that many people may face as they spend their time doing other tasks rather than doing what they actually need or want to do. So, for the sake of your mental health and saving time for things that matter to you, it’s important that you learn to say no.
